About Aloha Massage

Aloha Massage & Wellness is an alternative health and well-being practice run by Mark Ramsay from my home Studio located in Otara, Manukau City.
My goal is to share the peace and rejuvenation of traditional Hawaiian massage & healing through the power of Aloha - that is to care deeply for those I am blessed to encounter.
My focus is working with those seeking a place to grow, feel safe and connected to their wellbeing, without judgement of who you are, your age, body-shape, or gender. My home (Hale') studio is perfect for those new to massage and those simply seeking traditional healing dating back thousands of years.
Hawaiian Massage
Lomilomi’ means rub or massage, but is also known as ‘loving hands’ because it’s meant to be a nurturing, healing practice done with love (aloha) and good intentions.
It’s rooted in the ancient Hawaiian philosophy of Huna, which says that the mind, body and spirit are all connected, and so works on the whole person, not just the muscles.
Lomilomi in terms of its style is noted in its rhythmic and flowing style right across your body, connecting your whole body often in one continuous movement.
At Aloha Massage, I use a combination of lomi massage, herbal oils, use of Ha (mindfulness breathing) and heated stones to create a deep connection to the movement and massage.
Wellness & Remedial Care
I provide support and remedial care for a wide range of health issues, again using well researched traditional healing methods. Drawing from the Pacific, and because Aotearoa is blessed with so many medicinal plants, using Rongoā Maori knowledge and botanicals for effective healing. Following are areas I support;
- Chronic pain, back, neck, Arthritis and Plantar Fasciitis - along with support with those with diabetes (Edema etc)
- Skin (such Eczema etc) , and serious burn recovery
- Weight management, particular care for the lymphatic system
- Post medical intervention (stroke recovery, alternative physio such as knee, hand, and other surgery)
- Sports Massage, post and pre game/gym & injury rehab
- Specialist work for elderly, & postural support for young people and not so young!
